Chronic disease care
20 August 2024
Online Event
This deep and engaging expert discussion is part of the TechBlick Health Tech Series and is curated by Mr. Afred Poor.
According to the CDC, diabetes costs the U.S. an estimated $327 billion in 2017. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) costs about $50 billion annually. Hypertension accounts for about $200 billion per year. These are just three of many chronic conditions that place a significant demand on healthcare systems. Just a small improvement could result in billions of dollars saved every year: resources that could then be applied to making other improvements. In this session, experts from a wide range of fields will explore ways that wearables and other health tech solutions can improve results for chronic disease patients, including the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) in guiding treatment based on biometric data.
Panel 1: How is health technology changing how we manage common conditions such as heart disease and COPD?
Panel 2: Can technology provide more objective tracking of the progress of a chronic condition, such as Parkinson’s or various forms of demention?
